Bandar Seri Begawan – The series of presentations on the new UK visa points based system for Students Tier 4 conducted by the British High Commission continued at the Laksmana College of Business in Jalan Tutong yesterday.

Once again, the Entry Clearance Officer from the UK Border Agency Mr Leslie Tant along with a representative from the British Council, Education Promotion Officer Mrs Cecile Dasal were present to give the college’s students an overview of the new UK visa points based system.

The students present were given useful information in preparing them for the opportunity to fulfilling their degrees in the UK.

Both Mr Tant and Mrs Dasal spoke about the important steps in applying for UK student visa and the convenience of applying online.

included a few of those who will be pursuing their degrees in the UK for the September intake and were given a head start on the step by step procedures in applying for their student visas.

They were also informed on what to expect as they reach their destination.

The launching of the first series of presentations for schools and colleges was held last month. Mr Tant talked to students from the new Pusat Tingkatan Enam at the college’s hall in Katok, Gadong.

Several talks had also been conducted at other selected schools and colleges both in the government and private institutions as part of the British High Commission’s efforts to provide information to UK bound students and parents on this new system.

The new UK visa system is easy and straightforward as students will get 30 points if they are able to show the relevant authorities the required documents such as offer letters from the universities they apply to and another 10 points if they can demonstrate that they have sufficient fund to meet the cost while they are in the UK. — Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
