Bandar Seri Begawan – A Prize presentation was held at Jerudong Park Country Club for the Eight Pengiran Mahkota Charity Golf Tournament with co-sponsors, Royal Brunei Golf & Country Club, Jerudong Park Country Club and Boustead Sdn Bhd. His Royal Highness Prince Hj Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince, presented the prizes to the winners.
Also in attendance was the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Hj Md Yussof.
Last year’s tournament attracted some 230 golfers while this year’s tournament attracted over 270 golfers. The hole-in-one prizes were Nissan and Suzuki vehicles. The cars on display were Nissan Murano, Nissan Latio Sedan, Suzuki Grand Vitara and Suzuki Swift.
The overall champion for the tournament was Pengiran Anak Mohammad Saifullah bin PISDSK Pengiran Anak Haji Idris.
Division ‘A’ winner was Dr Alif bin Abdullah, while Shanom bin Hj Ahmad won Division ‘B’. The winner for Division ‘C’ was Rabaie bin Hj Narawi.
In the Senior Gross Division, Dato Paduka Haji Samid bin Hj Abd Aziz emerged as the winner while the Senior Nett Division was won by Pengiran Hj Kowloon bin Pengiran Haji Mohammad.
The Ladies Gross Division winner was Norhayati binti Masri while Debbie Soo won in the Ladies Nett Division.
For the first time, a Junior category was introduced to promote golf among Brunei’s younger generation. It was won by Ahmad Fauzi bin Haji Said. — Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
