Bandar Seri Begawan – Right after their mid-year assessments, the Kindergarten Three and Primary Level students of Sekolah Sinaran Mas made an educational trip to the Health Promotion Centre at Commonwealth Drive in Berakas. The visit aimed at creating health awareness among the young.
A total of 124 students, led by their teachers, were greeted on arrival by the centre’s officers. Health Education Officer Pg Anuar also gave an interesting talk regarding safety at home to the young students.
Enlightened by the talk, the students later toured the Health Gallery. Officers from the centre led the students and also briefed them on the various exhibits, which covered dental care, exercises for a good healthy heart, the dangers of smoking and relaxation for healthy living, to name but a few.
The students were also taught the 10 steps of hand-washing, the food pyramid and proper storage of food. The young visitors were allowed to browse and have fun with some hands-on activities tied to the exhibits. They also left the centre two hours later with some souvenirs from the friendly officers.
