A LOCAL man who appeared before the Bandar Seri Begawan Magistrate’s Court yesterday was released after posting a bail of $8,000 or two local sureties. According to a press release from the Anti-Corruption Bureau, it is alleged that the accused, Pg Abd Rahman bin PPI Pg Hj Abu Bakar, had “corruptly solicited a gratification of a sum of $200 from a local as an inducement for assistance to reduce his water bill”.
Pg Abd Rahman denied the allegation and was released on bail. Further mention of the case will be heard on July 9, 2009.
