IN L1GHT of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 63rd birthday, Mukim Pengkalan Batu in the Brunei-Muara district yesterday morning conducted a flag hoisting ceremony held at the Mukim Pengkalan Batu Multipurpose Hall.
Present as guest of honour was the Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs Tuan Haji Md Abdoh bin Dato Seri Setia Haji Abd Salam.
The event opened with a mass recital of the surah Al-Fatihah led by Imam Awang Mohd Azmi bin Haji Bunal,
Head Imam of the Kg Limau Manis Mosque followed with the handing over of the national flag by the Penghulu of Mukim Pengkalan Batu Awang Haji Tahir bin Haji Tarip to the guest of honour, who then handed over the flag to the Event Council Member for the flag hoisting ceremony,
The flag hoisting was accompanied with the singing of Brunei’s national anthem by residents of Mukim Pengkalan Batu.
The flag hoisting ceremony is the second event that was co-organised by the Mukim Pengkalan Batu Consultative Council and Village Consultative Council within Mukim Pengkalan Batu.
