BRUNEI DPMM FC’s attacking force has been boosted with the new signing of Drazen Govic who will be featured in the upcoming match against SAFFC on Wednesday, July 29 in Singapore.
Following the release of Korean striker Oh Ddog Yi, Brunei DPMM FC roped in the 187cm tall Govic when he becomes a free agent after playing for Croatian’s first division club HNK Sibenik.
The signing of the attacking midfielder was finally completed yesterday afternoon. Other than coach Simunic, Brunei DPMM FC have now three Croatians playing in the team namely Ivan Jerkovic, Rene Komar and new signing Drazen Govic.
In an interview with the 28-year-old Govic at the training ground of Brunei DPMM FC yesterday, he said: “I am happy to be with DPMM FC and I hope I can help DPMM FC achieve great feat in the Singapore League.”
“I just arrived in Brunei 15 days ago, I still need a bit of time adjusting to the style of the team. But I know that I will be fully prepared to face SAFFC on July 29.”
“The players in the team are fantastic. Brunei DPMM FC are a good team and we can achieve great things together,” he added.
Govic and coach Simunic are actually no strangers. Govic played under Simunic around five years ago with Club Zadar in Croatia.
On adapting to life in Brunei, he said: “Rene and Ivan helped me a lot to adjust myself to the life here. They have been great. I have been constantly communicating with the coach as well. So I feel at home already.”
