In conjunction with His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 63rd birthday, The Empire Hotel and Country Club organised a three-day celebration event.
The event consists of activities open for members of the public from July 24-26. Over 29 carnival games including hoola hoop, treasure hunt, kayaking, tiki frisbee, shoot the duck and bicycle obstacle course.
Sports activities are held at the West Beach such as beach football, giant sack race, miniature golf, tug-of-war, volleyball and coconut bowling. Entertainment and competitions are also held throughout the whole event.
The hotdogs eating competition and spaghetti eating competition will be held from July 25-26 where winners will stand a chance to win vouchers from the hotel. The carnival started from 12 noon and will continue until night time where the climax will be a fireworks display.
The Family Day Splash will be held tomorrow from 10am to 6pm. Entrance is $12 per adult and $6 per child and the splash starts from 11am to 5.30pm at the Lagoon pool.
The Empire Hotel and Country Club has taken a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of the people against H1N1 by setting up five screening stations at every entrance of the hotel during the carnival.
