WHILE having their tea break, participants of some courses and workshop at the Institute Civil Service (IPA) were put through a fire drill scenario recently. Participants were surprised to see smoke blowing out from one of the lecture floors on the 2nd floor.
Everyone was evacuated from the building and• was gathered at the assembly point with the help of some of the IPA staff and the Fire and Rescue department.
The Fire and Rescue Department are currently collaborating with government agencies and the private sector to train their personnel to assist in various situations before the arrival of the Fire and Rescue squad to avoid any loss of life or injuries.
The Fire and Rescue Department advises on matters of evacuation, conducts fire drills at high-risk buildings as well as train personnel on emergency procedures.
