A DZIKIR Syarafilanam competition was held in conjunction with His Majesty’s 63rd birthday celebration at the multi-purpose hall of Hassanal Bokiah Mosque, Tutong. The competition was organised by the committee members of His Majesty’s birthday celebration with muslimah members of Tutong mosques. Five muslimah groups took part in the competiton, where each group chose one of the lagu dzikir’ such as Khairuman, Bisahri, Al-Ham or Badat.
The guest of honour who handed out the prizes was Dayang Hajah Naimah binti Haji Kamaluddin, the Tutong Religious Head Officer’s wife. Kampung Penanjong Mosque’s muslimah earned 86 points to win, while Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque’s muslimah collected 84 points and 75 points were given to Kampong Keriam Mosque’s muslimah.
The competition aimed to strengthen the ties among muslimahs as well as to ensure that women muslimah members won’t miss any religious events held by government departments.
