THE first ever HSBC Charity Golf Tournament @ The Empire came to an end yesterday afternoon with a prize presentation ceremony for the winners. The event took place at the Members Grill at the Empire Golf and Country Club.
The event started with the presentation of donations to DANA Al-Muhtadee Billah and the Pusat Ehsan.
Receiving the cheque for the Crown Prince Al-Muhtadee Billah Trust Fund for Orphans was the Head Executive Officer of the Fund, Dato Paduka Haji Ali Hashim Haji Daud.
Meanwhile, on hand to receive the donation on behalf of Pusat Ehsan was the Head of Administration, Haji Abdul Hamid bin Maaruf.
Both cheques were presented by the CEO of HSBC Tareq Muhmood and General Manager of Empire Hotel and Country Club, Desmond Acheson.
It was followed by the presentation of prizes to the winners of the golf tournament.
The champion for the Men Best Gross was Seruji Haji Setia with a score of 72.
Haji Idris Haji Abdul Ham id won the Best Nett for male category whilst Hajah Asmah Haji Omar won the Ladies Best Nett with a total score of 66.
The grand prize winners were Alfred Sim and Vanessa Fitzgerald, who won a trip for two to the Prestigious HSBC Champions 2009 in Sheshan Golf Club in November 2009 inclusive of accommodation, and a chance to watch some of the world-renowned golfers in action.
The three-day charity golf tournament which was held from August 6 to 9, was held for the first time by HSBC Brunei in partnership with the Empire Hotel and Country Club.
HSBC Brunei thanked their main sponsors namely; The Empire Hotel and Country Club, GHK Motors Sdn Bhd, Brunei Press Sdn Bhd, The Face Shop, Kristal Media, Ranoadidas, Syarikat Perniagaan Malar Setia, Swee Sendirian Berhad and Aewon Garment and Embroidery, for their generosity.
