The Kemuda Institute recently joined voluntary works at Kg Wasan after it was given an opportunity to take part in a paddy-harvesting activity during the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources Family Day. Unexpectedly, both its administration members and students were eager to join the programme.
During the session, everybody worked hard together to harvest the paddy. It took a lot of hard work, but the group effort made the harvesting fun.
Before this, it never crossed the participants’ minds that harvesting could be an enjoyable, sociable activity. They thanked the organisers for giving them the invaluable opportunity to go back to basics through harvesting paddy.
Through the new experience, all the students were reminded that their college is not just one that excels in the IT field, but that they must also care for Brunei’s inland products. It is also hoped that they will be given another chance to do something similar again.
