MORE than 100 graduating students of the Laksamana College of Business (LCB) yesterday received their certificates from the Deputy Minister of Education, Pg Dato Seri Setia Dr Hj. Mohammad bin Pg Hj Abd Rahman at the college’s graduation ceremony for the 2008-2009 session.
Also present to witness the graduation ceremony held at the Songket Ballroom of the Rizqun International Hotel were the Founder/Director of LCB, Pehin Orang Kaya Ratna Setia Dato Setia Hj Awg Abd Hapidz POKL Hj Awg Abd Razak, and the British High Commissioner to Brunei, Mr Robert Fenn.
The function began with the recital of Surah Al-Fatihah, which was followed by a welcoming note from the Principal/Director of LCB/Kensington College of Business (KCB), Mr Ian Pirie.
The ceremony saw the graduation of 13 graduates in B A Common Year 1 including Best Student (January 2009) Dk Sahanoorazzirah Pg Hj Shamsuddin, nine graduates in the University Foundation Course including Best Students Muhd Rabani Hj Roslan (June 2008) and Loo Kee Khoon (June 2009), three graduates in Cambridge International Diploma in Business including Best Student Muhd Hisyam Hj Mohd Deli, and 18 graduates in KCB Higher Diploma in Business Management including Best Students Abu Mandini Hj Abd Wahab (December 2008) and Tiong Yun Sen (June 2009).
Meanwhile, the KCB Advanced Diploma in Business Management programme saw 16 graduates with students Amirizan Hj Sulaiman, Lee Jia Hau and Amina named Best Students in June 2009. Another 21 students graduated in KCB Diploma in Business Management, with student Kelvin Yee Chuan Hieng named Best Student June 2009, while 30 more students graduated in KCB Certificate in Business Management.
The June 2009 Best Student awards in KCB Certificate in Business Management went to Lee Ming Li, Andy Chia Ka Hoe, Alice Chaw Li Fang, Danny Tay Kwong Ping and Leong Jia Qi.
LCB is a subsidiary of KCB, London that was established in Brunei in 2003 as a Business Course Provider. It offers courses ranging from professional to academic qualifications and has grown considerably throughout the six years of its establishment. With the recent expansion of its college premises and newly upgraded facilities, the college hopes to open more courses in other academic fields such as courses in IT
