The Han Association held a dinner reception at the Songket Ballroom, Rizqun Hotel, yesterday, where over 300 family members attended the event. The theme of the night was Han Clan Night.

The objective of the reception was to honour the friendship amongst the Han Clan as well as providing an opportunity for the younger generation to get to know one another and the history of their ancestors and origins.

Present at the reception as the guest of honour was the Ambassador of China to Brunei, Mrs Tong Xiao Ling, Tutong District Officer, Haji Idris bin Hj Md Ali and spouse as well as the Muara District Officer, Dato Paduka Awang Haji Md Yussop bin Bakar.

Before the reception dinner commenced, President of the Kuala Belait Hainan Association as well as the Co-Chairman of the event, Mr Han Min Yuen delivered welcoming speeches.

Also present at the event were guests from Singapore, Thailand and the Hainan Island of China. Entertainment for the evening took place in the form of a performance from the Miri Dancing School, a magic show as well as the cutting of a cake.
