A tedarus ceremony was held in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadhan at Kampong Bukit Udal Mosque yesterday. The ceremony was organised by Mukim Tanjong Maya Consultative Committee and Mukim Pekan Tutong Consultative Committee as well as Kampong Bukit Udal Mosque Committee. The event was a collaboration with the Ministry of Home Affairs and departments under it, village head and district leaders.
The tedarus ceremony is one of the activities conducted during the holy month of Ramadhan for the Ministry of Home Affairs and departments under it.
The aim was to increase and also strengthen relationship ties between the departments in Ministry of Home Affairs and with the four districts and the District Consultative Council.
Present at the ceremony was Pehin Orang Kaya Dewa Pahlawan Dato Paduka Awang Haji Dani bin Haji Ibrahim, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, permanent secretaries, deputy permanent secretaries, head of departments under the Ministry of Home Affairs, senior officers and village heads of all four districts.
The ceremony began with the recital of Al-Quran and tahlil prayers led by Imam Awang Azman bin Haji Hussin, an Imam from Kampong Bukit Udal Mosque.
A religious foundation (Wakaf) was then presented by the guest of honour, Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Adanan bin Begawan Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister of Home Affairs.
