LAKSAMANA College of Business (LCB), a well-established and prestigious college in the capital, conducted a pre-departure briefing for its students who are leaving to pursue their degree in the UK.
The briefing was facilitated by a representative from the Northumbria University, Newcastle, Miss Nina Jalaluddin. Nine LCB students who attended the briefing are amongst those who have registered with Northumbria University to complete their final year degree and these students are from both professional and degree pathways who have accomplished their levels with LCB.
Meanwhile, 13 other students from LCB got accepted to a number of universities in the UK to pursue their final year degree, namely University of Wales (London Centre) and Keele University, to name a few. Most of these students are headed to the UK this month.
However, as LCB congratulates their deserving students heading for universities, it is also promoting new courses through a series of educational roadshows at The Mall, Gadong starting today until September 6 and again from September 11-13.
Following the success of the educational roadshow last July, students who are interested to join the September intake are required to bring photocopies of their examination results and any work reference along with two passport-size photos and a photocopy of their identity cards.
Amongst all, the roadshow hopes to attract the interest of students who have just completed their “0″ or “A” levels and are now seeking to enroll in a higher learning institution where British qualifications can be achieved locally with a global perspective at an affordable cost.
LCB has opened registration for its September 2009 intake and now is the chance for students to discover a brighter future ahead of them in the country. Some of the courses have entry requirements which entail a minimum of two credits in two “0″ level English medium subjects or one credit in Malay and one credit in any English medium subject.
Students may find the courses being offered at LCB advantageous as it can be used as a bridge to pursue a degree in top-ranked higher learning institutions such as the United Kingdom’s Northumbria University and University of Wales, while saving on cost and time, as the students study locally first before continuing their studies abroad.
