BIBD treats media to appreciation dinner

Aziz Idris Sep 5th, 2009 .

BANK Islam Brunei Darussalam Berhad (BIBD) hosted a `sungkai’ (break fast) for media representatives from the government and private sectors yesterday at I-Lotus restaurant in Rimba.

Present to welcome the media representatives were the Acting Managing Director of BIBD, Mr Javed Ahmad as well as the bank’s Marketing and Public Relation staff.

The main objectives for organising the sungkai was for the bank to build and foster both business and social relationship with those working with the media not only in Brunei Darussalam but also in neighbouring states.
This will not only allow the staff within BIBD to interact with the media but an opportunity for the media groups to get to know each other.

As a small community, the media plays an important role in delivering news on a daily basis regardless of whether via television, radio, newspaper or the Internet.

It is vital for the people of Brunei to receive the right message from both the public and private sectors, especially at times when the world is experiencing the global economic crisis thus, providing the local media with an opportunity to understand the functions of BIBD as the leading Islamic Bank in the country.

Through the sungkai gathering, the media had the opportunity to learn more about the Islamic banking industry, prominently BIBD’s achievements, activities, future plans and goals. While the media interacts with the BIBD’s staff, the bank also showcased its commitments to the country both socially and financially.
They also learned about the business market updates and strengths of BIBD both domestically and internationally.
