THE local media was given an opportunity to catch a glimpse of the already sold out Audi R8 with its exclusive exterior and interior Quattro GmbH packaging at TCY Motors Sdn Bhd, Audi’s official dealer yesterday.
According to Audi AG, it is the only Audi R8 of its kind in Asia. It is said that no other markets in the Asian region have ordered such specification, stated TCY Motors.
The R8 unit truly embodies the Audi brand profile — sporty, sophisticated and progressive.
Although the engine specs are similar with any standard R8, the new “R8 Exclusive Packaging” totals up to $300,000. If one is willing to add an extra $20,000 for its new revamped looks, then this mean machine has it alt.
The Audi R8 is powered by a standard V8 4.2FSI engine which pushes out 430Nm of torque, reaching a top speed of 301km/h with an acceleration of 0 to 100km/h in just 4.6 seconds, or in other words, an output of 414bhp.
The R8 also utilises the trademark “Audi Space Frame ASF, FSI direct fuel injection technology” and “Quattro permanent all-wheel drive system”. The R8 has the best road handling and traction, which makes it a high performance sports car.
Yesterday’s sneak peek into the exterior and interior packaging from Quattro GmbH — a wholly owned private subsidiary of Audi AG, which primarily specialises in producing high performance Audi cars and components, was a revelation.
Strapped with a saddlebrown exterior and magnolia Nappa leather seat complete with chestnut brown stitches including a side blade in magnolia makes it feel like one is driving in a sporty low-riding Rolls Royce.
This time round, its five twin-spoke designed alloy wheels ride on a 235/35 R 19 tyres in the front and 305/30 R 19 in the rear.
The exclusive Audi leather is also found on the steering wheel, gear level knob, handbrake grip, and on inlay door trims, centre console and door handle on the passenger side.
Meanwhile, TCY Motors said they would be introducing both the Audi Q5 SUV and the Audi A5 coupe to the local market soon.
