AS KITE-FLYING is getting more popular, especially late in the afternoon, the police warned kite-flyers not to play in areas frequented by helicopters and not to disregard safety when chasing kites especially near roads.
Children and adults too were seen playing kites, especially at the national housing scheme areas in Kg Rimba, Tungku and Lambak Kanan.
The police said they should fly kites in an open space and that it is the responsibility of all, especially parents and guardians, to ensure the safety of the children.
The police also advised motorists to drive with extra care as alomost 100 accidents were recorded by the traffic police between August 29 and September 11, 2009 throughout the country.
