A Khatam al-Quran ceremony was held yesterday for the inmates of the Jerudong and Maraburong Prison Institutions.

Present as the guest of honour at the Maraburong Prison was the Acting Director of Prisons, Hj Abd Manan Hj Abd Rahman, while the guest of honour for the event at the Jerudong Prison was the Head of Prisons Institutions Superintendent Hj Jasni Hj Abd Latif.

The events were held in conjunction with the Nuzul al-Quran and is organised every year during the month of Ramadhan by the Prisons Department Institutions Rehabilitation Section.

Yesterday also saw inmates at the Maraburong Prison paying the Zakat Fitrah.

Also present at yesterday’s events were senior officers, officers and staff of the Prisons Department.
