To mark the end of Tedarus Al-Quran ceremonies for the month of Ramadhan this year, the Ministry of Religious Affairs held a closing event yesterday at the Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque.
The guest of honour at the event was Pehin Jawatan Luar Pekerma Raja Dato Seri Utama Dr Ustaz Haji Awang Md Zain bin Haji Serudin, Minister of Religious Affairs.
Also in attendance were Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Othman, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs, and Permanent Secretary Awang Haji Md Mahdi bin Pehin Orang Kaya DiGadong Seri Diraja Dato Laila Utama Haji Awang Abdul Rahman.
Also present at the ceremony were the Deputy Permanent Secretary and senior officers from the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
The spouse of the Minister of Religious Affairs, Pg Datin Hajah Johana binti Pg Haji Zainal, was also present in the women’s area of the mosque.
Also present on the women’s side of the ceremony were senior officers at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, religious teachers, and the Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanal Bolkiah Muslimah Group.
The ceremony began with the recital of the Al-Fatihah, led by the guest of honour.
Verses were then read from the Quran and were followed by a Takhtim reading, which was led by mosque officers.
The Doa Takhtim was then led by Mudin Haji Suhaili bin Haji Kalong. The ceremony concluded with a doa selamat, led by Pehin Khatib Haji Mustafa bin Haji Murad.
