In conjucntion with the celebration of the Silver Jubilee of the Kampong Perpindahan Mata-Mata Mosque, community members held a Khatam Al-Quran at the mosque yesterday.
More than 50 people attended the event and the guest of honour was Acting Assistant Director of Mosque Affairs, Awg Haji Amirhisham bin Haji Masri.
The mosque was built on September 28, 1984 and officiating the opening of the mosque was Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Seri Utama Haji Matali bin Mat Yasin. Also, as part of the mosque’s Silver Jubilee, 25 men from the mosque committee held a mass prayer.
Two members from the Tahfiz al-Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Insititute, Nurul Hanifah bin Al-Hussiani and Muhammad Ammar Fashan bin Ahmad had been appointed as Imams for Terawih prayers until the month of Ramadhan comes to an end.
The event also witnessed the handing over of donations to orphans within the department followed by a souvenir presentation to the guest of honour.
Before the event came to an end, a mass Fardhu Maghrib prayer was held following breaking the day’s fast at the mosque.
