EIGHT students who are in their third year at Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University have been chosen to study aboard. Three of them are being sent to the University of Jordan while another five to Dar Al-Ulum, Cairo University through the Study Abroad Programme (SAP).
The objectives of the programme are to expose the ‘students to different study environments and to increase their academic performance.
Attending the University of Jordan are Awang Haji Mohd Khairul Nafiz bin Haji Awang Damit, Awang Abdul Aziz bin Haji Abdul Rahman and Dayang Nooramidah binti Awang Haji Chuchu.
Meanwhile, Dyg Nurasna binti Isa, Dyg Siti Bazilah binti Hj Sulaiman, Dyg Nuur Hazirah binti Hassan, Dyg Nurul Nadzirah binti Haji Abdul Hamid and Dyg Roseanita binti Haji Timbang are going to Dar Al-` Ul um, Cairo University.
The chosen students have excelled in meeting the requirements that entitled them to the programme.
The requirements are academic achievement of not less than Grade B+ or CGPA 3.33, mastering the language (English and Arabic), active in co-curriculum and with positive attitude and good personalities.
The university is cooperating with several universities overseas in placing selected students to follow the programme.
This time, 14 UNISSA students have been chosen to take part in the one-year abroad programme.
Present to bid farewell to the eight students yesterday at the airport was Assistant Rector of UNISSA, Pengiran Anak Dr Haji Amiruddin Shah bin Pengiran Anak Haji Ismail.
