THE Ministry of Religious Affairs held thanksgiving prayers at Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque in the capital yesterday afternoon to mark its Golden Jubilee.
The Minister of Religious Affairs, Pehin Jawatan Luar Pekerma Raja Dato Seri Utama Dr Ustaz Hj Md Zain bin Hj Serudin, was the guest of honour at the religious event to mark the 50th anniversary of the ministry’s establishment:
Following the reading of `Sunat Hajat’, which was led by Pehin Khatib Hj Emran bin Hj Kunchang, ‘Surah Yasin’ and thanksgiving prayers were recited.

Yahya bin Hj Ibrahim, Pehin Orang Kaya Hamzah Pahlwan Dato Seri Setia Hj Abdullah bin Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Hj Abu Bakar, Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Hj Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, Pehin Datu Imam Dato Paduka Seri Ustaz Hj Awang Abdul Hamid bin Bakal and Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Dr Hj Mohammad bin Pengiran Hj Abdul Rahman were among those who attended the religious event.
Also present were Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Hj Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Hj Othman, the Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs, Hj Mohd Mandi bin Pehin Orang Kaya Digadong Seri Diraja Dato Leila Utama Hj Awang Abdul Rahman, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and other officers of the ministry.
