The drawing up of a Master Plan is one of the most important initiatives to be undertaken jointly under the main action plan of the Bandar Seri Begawan Municipality Planning and Development Committee. The Master Plan covering the new municipality border of 100.36 square kilometres should serve as a comprehensive guide towards a more controlled development and progression of areas therein that would remain competitive and sustainable for years to come.
The Minister of Home Affairs, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Haji Adanan stated this at a roadshow on the drawing up of the Bandar Seri Begawan Masterplan held at a hotel in Gadong. Yang Berhormat said that with the master plan,it is hoped that the development of Bandar Seri Begawan can be upgraded especially its economic and business activities and at the same time attract more people including tourists to come to the capital.
The event held to let the public, especially relevant parties – know the importance of developing Bandar Seri Begawan through plans outlined by appointed consultants, H-O-K international (Asia Pacific) limited. The comprehensive induction plan for Bandar Seri Begawan specialises in development strategies for Bandar Seri Begawan. It’s to make Bandar Seri Begawan more orderly for medium and long term future development.
