AS part of their efforts to attract more youths into the sports boxing ring, the Nobis National Boxing Tournament Committee held a meeting recently in Berakas.
It is organised by the Persatuan Tinju Amatur Negara Brunei Darussalam Boxing, with support from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports’ Department of Culture, Youths And Sports, and the Giant’s Supermarket, Rimba.
The meeting was chaired by Hj Abu Bakar Hj Piut, deputy secretary of the organising event. It will be held from 8.30pm onwards at the Giant supermarket’s parking lot on Nov 29, Nov 30 and Dec 1 this year.
According to Hj Abu Bakar Hj Piut, the competition was actually planned as part of His Majesty’s 63rd Birthday celebration, but there were certain restrictions, and it was also postponed due to the Influenza A (H1N1).
The chief guest of the event is expected to be the Director of Culture, Youth and Sports Department.
