PREMIER Automobile Sdn Bhd together with the Sungai Kelugos Village Consultative Council held a tug-of-war championship for the Ford Tug-of-War Championship Trophy.
The event, which took place at the Muda Hashim Primary School Field, saw the participation of eight invited teams with two teams from every district.
The guest of honour at the event was the Tutong District Officer, Hj Idris bin Hj Md Ali.
The joint chairman, Hj Ismail Hj Mohamad, in his speech said the company intended to enhance and develop sports, as well as to foster closer working ties between NGOs and Village Consultative Council.
The winner of the championship was RBAF Tutong team, who won the trophy and $1,000 cash.
Second and third place went to Mega Power team and Chainblock team, who won themselves $700 cash and $500 cash respectively.
Meanwhile, Anak Brunei came in fourth place receiving $300 cash.
The event was further enlivened with the Ranger Strongman (Man vs Truck) contest, which was won by Md Khairi bin Abd Salan. Second and third place went to Hishamuddin bin Hj Md Hussin and Salman bin Siggar respectively.
The prizes were presented by the guest of honour, who also received a donation of $1,500 for the District Welfare Fund contributed by Premier Automobile Sdn Bhd.
