In a separate itinerary, Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha and Her Royal Highness Pengiran Isteri Azrinaz Mazhar, consented to visit a school for orphans in Moscow.
Upon arrival at the school, Her Majesty and Her Royal Highness were greeted by the school’s Director, Mr. Igor Ashotovich. Also with Her Majesty and Her Royal Highness, were Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Salleh Ab Rahaman, and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Amal Umi Kalthum Al-Islam.
The visit programme included viewing exhibits of a museum exhibition, as well as touring computer rooms, the hostel and playroom. The school manages mostly orphans aged between 6 and 18 years old. To welcome and further highlight the royal visit, several orphans presented a musical performance.
Even though the visit was a brief one, it left a deep impact on the school, especially with the contribution of a donation to the school. The motherly graciousness and tender care shown by Her Majesty and Her Royal Highness had certainly brought about happiness among the orphans and could encourage them to live on and look up to the future with more confidence. This visit was indeed an invaluable gift for these children.
