THE women inmates had the opportunity to celebrate Hari Raya yesterday.
The event, held at Bukit Pantai Jerudong Prison, was attended by the chief guest Haji Abd Rahman, Acting Director of Prisons.
Also in attendance were heads of the prisons institution, officers and staff from the Prisons Department.
The celebration for prison inmates is held annually by each institution as an encouragement to show that they are not forgotten. It is also hoped that through such events, they will be accepted by society as valuable and responsible citizens after their release from prison.
A similar celebration was held at Maraburong Prison Institution on Tuesday. The chief guest was Haji Jasni bin Haji Abd Latif. Another celebration will be held at the Jerudong Prisons Institution today.
