Kg Bunut celebrates Hari Raya Aidilfitri

DESPITE the fact that the month of Syawal has almost reached its end, the festive spirit of Hari Raya is still felt in the country. The Takmir and Mosque committee of the Kampong Bunut area along with the consultative council of Kg Bunut, Kampong Tasek Meradun-Bunut, Kampong Madewa Sungai Ketam and Kampong Telanai held a Han Raya get-together in the vicinity of Kampong Bunut mosque.

The event started with a mass recital of surah al-fatihah, which was led by the mosque’s Imam, Haji Abdullah bin BPK Dato Paduka Hj Abd Wahid.

The chairman of the event, Awang Haji Abu Bakar bin Haji Zainal, in his welcoming speech said the aim of the celebration was to strengthen ties amongst the Takmir and Muslimah mosque members as well as other residents around the area who frequent the mosque.

One of the mosque advisors, Dato Paduka Haji Zainal bin Haji Momin, congratulated the mosque’s achievements as it has been the recipient of a number ofawards. He also lauded the efforts and time spent by those concerned in conducting and participating in religious activities such as the National Azan, Dikir Syarafil Annam national competitions and communal services.

The village head of Perpindahan Kampong Bunut, Awang Haji Adanan bin Haji Md Salleh, as the representative from all three villages also delivered a speech where he touched upon the successes of the mosque, borne from the cooperation provided by the Takmir and Muslimah Mosque committee with the consultative council from the three villages. He hoped that the efforts would be continued and improved over time to achieve even more success.

One of the mosque advisors, Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Sura Pahlawan Dato Paduka Awang Haji Tahir bin Metasan, presented a souvenir to the former village head of Tasik Meradun-Bunit, Awang Haji Maidin bin Haji Kasim. Those present were entertained with a number of performances such as syair, nasyid and tausyeh whilst enjoying delicacies served at the event.
