Brunei Darussalam has once again been invited to partake in the 36th South East Asian Youth Ship programme. It’s organised and fully sponsored by the government of Japan, in cooperation with ASEAN nations. This year will mark Brunei’s 24th participation, since it first joined the program in 1985. The Head of Contingent and Youth Ship participants, held a courtesy call with the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
The Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, Dato Paduka Awang Haji Jemat said to the youths selected to take part in the program, that they were not solely representatives of youth groups as a component of the country’s society, but were representing the country, and would be shouldering a heavy responsibility. This year, Brunei sends a contingent comprising of 28 youths and one contingent head. A total of 330 youths from 11 nations will take part. The function took place at the Ministry of Culture, youth and Sports.
