THE moment that softball fans have been waiting for is finally here.
In the books for a few months, the hotly-anticipated Brunei Amateur Softball and Baseball Association (BASBA) Silver Jubilee Tournament in conjunction with the 10th ASEAN Softball Championship kicks off at the Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien (SOAS) field in the capital today, and will see the region’s best slug it out for title of champions.
Apart from Brunei A and B, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Singapore will do battle in the four-day tournament.
Brunei B are set to face Malaysia in the opener at 9am.
The opening ceremony will be held at 8.30am and BASBA president Major General (R) Pehin Datu Awg Hj Md Jaafar Hj Abdul Aziz is expected to officiate.
Entry to all games is free.
