ATEAM of 13 Sungai Liang firefighters achieved the target response time when it reached the intended site five minutes after receiving the emergency call.
The achievement is recorded through the competency training test conducted by the Belait Fire and Rescue Department. The training was led by Deputy Commanding Officer Operation B, Mr Chin Pok and also joined by the Operation B Public Relations, Officer Awang Mohd Taha bin Bakar.
According to Mr Chin Pok, the call was spontaneously made from the site without notifying the firefighters beforehand. The training was carried out to ensure the abilities and swiftness of the firefighters in the event of a real fire emergency.
During the training for the Sungai Liang firefighters, a fire emergency call was placed from the building of Court Furniture business premise in Sungai Liang at about 10.46 am and they arrived at the location with three fire engines within five minutes.
Mr Chin Pok further added that such training is applied to all firefighters in the district so they would perform their duties more efficiently and proactively in real emergency cases.
When the firefighters arrived at the site, they also inspected the building to ensure the adequate presence of fire prevention equipment.
A briefing following the competency training also took place at the site.
