The Brunei Darussalaam Tug of War Association has received an invitation to take part in the ‘World Tug of War’ competiton to be held in Italy next year. As part of preparations for the international event, the national Tug-of-War team will take part in the 3rd ASEAN indoor Tug-of-War competition to be held in Singapore over the weekend.
A total of ten teams from ASEAN nations, including a number of teams from Asia are taking part in the three-day event which begins Saturday, 7th November. Brunei Darussalam’s Tug-of-war team comprising 17 people left the country this morning . According to the President of Tug of War of Brunei Darussalam, Pengiran Haji Jadid bin Pengiran Haji 0mar Ali, Brunei Darussalam is participating for the third time in the ASEAN tournament since it was first organised.
With the achievement and upgraded level of G16 in the tug-of-war event in the country, the national team should be able to clinch victory in the higher-level championship. And according to Pengiran Haji Jadid, Brunei Darussalam’s team with their experience from the previous two tournaments, has very high hopes of winning this tournament, although taking part in the competition in an indoor stadium would be a new experience for them.
