A TOTAL of 188 haj pilgrims yesterday departed Brunei Darussalam for their month-long pilgrimage.
According to Darussalam Holdings Sdn Bhd, Flight BI 4177 carried 188 haj pilgrims, of which four were medical officers.

The flight yesterday was the fourth and final charter in as many days to carry Brunei haj pilgrims intending to fulfil the fifth pillar of Islam by performing the haj in the holy city of Mecca.

The third flight, BI 4175, took off a day earlier (November 5) carrying 199 pilgrims, including four medical officers, to their destination.

All chartered flight passengers are being allowed an additional 10 kilogrammes baggage allowance upon their return for the carriage of up to five litres of ‘ zam-zam’ water.

Royal Brunei Airlines (RBA) has operated four charter flights this year to Medina from November 3 to 6, flying more than 700 passengers from Brunei Mecca for their Haj pilgrimage.
