SEVERAL participants of the 31st Asean Ministers on Agriculture and Forestry Meeting (AMAF) yesterday visited several tourist attractions in the country, including the newly launched Baitul Wajihah Homestay in Wasan.
The delegates had the opportunity to view scale models of traditional wooden houses, animal and fish trap devices and traditional rattan baskets.
A live traditional music group, `Irama Bahtera’ also showcased their talents playing traditional Brunei music, as well as contemporary music using traditional musical instruments.
While they were being serenaded by Irama Bahtera, the visitors also had the opportunity to sample local delicacies like the exotic durian, the unique ambuyat, as well as having a go at making the cover for Ketupat and traditional basket weaving.
The delegates were accompanied by officers from Brunei Tourism, who also brought the delegates to visit other attractions in the country including the Kampong Ayer Cultural and Tourism Gallery, Arts and Handicraft Centre, and later in the afternoon they were treated to a hi-tea in Gadong, hosted by Datin Norlina Hj Abu Bakar, spouse of the Minister of Industry and Primary Resources.
