BRUNEI’s own hip-hop trio Micbandits will perform “Micbandits Proudly Presents: It’s a Wrap” at the Songket Hall of The Rizqun International Hotel, on Saturday, November 14 at 7pm.
The talented youngsters, including vocalist Zaed Hani and producer/rapper Asnawi Hamid, will perform their own unique blend of music, a fusion of US hip hop with their indigenous Brunei-Malay culture and values.
Micbandits formed in 2006 and have already recorded three albums: Retrospective, Brunei (2006), Rhythm ‘n Poetry (2007) and Of Mics and Men (2008).
In 2009, the group was officially signed by Kartel Records, owned by Joe Flizzow of Too Phat.
With a unique blend of music which touches on topics such as humour, adolescence, the future, and growing up and living in Brunei their music is well accepted by the already growing number of fans which have grew with their break through single “Here Comes the Rapper” complete with a video on the popular site youtube.
The “It’s a Wrap” event is supported by Pelangi FM and will premier the new music video of Microbandits latest single, Cantik Rupamu (Hello), directed by Reza Mustappa.
