“Cycling is the number one fat-burning exercise. This workout can burn up to 800 calories per 60 minutes. We have a regimen where people can pedal to the beat of music, dance on the bike and develop very good posture,” said Carinne, the owner of Groove Studio.

Carinne has three fulltime instructors assisting her: personal trainer, Carlo Caragay, 23, who was the Philippines’ Mr Captain Barbell, Adrian Lalusis, 25, the Mr Laguna body-builder who is known for his appearance on Philippine noontime TV shows, Eat Bulaga and Wowowee Manila Dance Hip-Hop Champion, and Regielyn Paraso Balderol, 23, a dance fitness instructor.

To lose weight, improve flexibility and maintain good health as well as become fitter, Groove Studio offers indoor group cycling, hi-lo/step aerobics, hip-hop, hip-hop abs, belly, line and dance fusion, strength training, body and mind (yoga/pilates), and dance training classes.

Carinne added that, “A second dance studio designed to accommodate up to 30 people will hopefully be set up by February 2010″. “Line-dancing helps any individual to feel young and positively helps your mental and physical health by de-stressing and cooling down after a workout

“People from 20 to 60 line-dance to a premix of Lambada, What a Feeling, I Will Survive and a mixture of happy music and popular pop tunes. “Hip-hop kids come together, relax and practice to get the steps and motions right.

“There is also a kids’ yoga class for hyperactive children and for those with short attention spans. They are taught to be imaginative and concentrate on what they are doing. They can blow cotton balls on the floor, go to a forest to cut down trees and do stretch poses. Undertaking these activities for a moment can help them to calm down and lengthen their attention span.

“Overweight children are advised to come, have fun, further develop their eye-to-hand coordination, be more motivated, improve their motor skills, and to de-stress from all of their schoolwork”.

“We have great instructors in every session and they do their jobs very well for our clients whether they are interested in personal weight training, building stamina or learning cool dances.

Clients are told how to workout, eat right, burn fat efficiently, maintain a healthy weight, assist low-esteemed individuals feel better and build their confidence level, lose excess weight and increase strength.
