One of the Dream Charter crewmembers, Aideen Henry, said, “Brunei Darussalam has a lot of potential to set up water sports activities, particularly in Muara which is a very encouraging area for such pursuits to be held,” during the launch of the second and latest addition to the charter scene which was dubbed ‘SY Jenny’.

The launching ceremony took place at the Kampong Ayer Cultural and Tourism Gallery yesterday morning.

In attendance to officiate the boat launch was the Minister of Industry and Primary Resource, Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Utama Dato Seri Setia Haji Yahya bin Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Haji Bakar.

Other guests present during the launch included the Deputy Minister, Dato Paduka Haji Hamdillah bin Haji Abdul Wahab, Permanent Secretary, Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Hamid Haji Mohd Jaafar and the Director of the Tourism Board, Sheikh Jamaluddin Sheikh Mohamed.

Jenny was originally constructed in Finland from steel and is 13 metres long and 3.6 metres wide. The boat is designed to accommodate a maximum of 25 guests.

Dream Charter has successfully put Brunei on the global stage within the sailing context by taking home four prizes during the sixth Borneo International Yacht Challenge which took place around Miri, Labuan and Kota Kinabalu, recently.

During the launch, Captain Peter Moeller, presented the winning trophy to the guest of honour.

Dream Charter Sailing in Brunei was officially opened on January 3 where the first boat launched was the Petima. The brains behind the wonderful new yacht, Captain Peter Moeller and Mr Bohari Abdullah, decided to open the first and only charter business in Brunei Darussalam.
