About 80% of Brunei’s total land area of 5,791 square kilometers is still covered by a variety of forests. Its tropical rainforest has among the richest and most diverse eco-systems in the world. One of the natural rainforest reserve, Tasek Merimbun which consists of the primary and secondary forest, contains many unique and rare plants that has different and various way to adapt to the surrounding. This was presented by four teams from Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien College and Victoria School Singapore.

The project presentation on ‘Identification of Tasek Merimbun Forest Type and Plant Adaptation’ was a result of a two days field trip from 17th November to 18th November. The trip was to conduct a small scale scientific research made by the students. This trip was part of the exchange program between the schools. The Principal of the Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien College, Pengiran Haji Zahari bin Pengiran Haji Ahmad hoped that the twinning program had achieved it’s objective to foster closer ties and build relations. The project presentation was held at Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien College Auditorium. This was the second educational visit by the Victoria School Singapore.
