The Mukim and Village Consultative Councils in the Tutong district which are actively involved in economy activities are still at a low level. However, the Ministry of Home Affairs through the District 0ffices will continue its role to give support and cooperation to empower the activities of Mukim and Village Consultative Councils, especially in economy related fields . The Minister of Home Affairs made the remarks at the launch of Mukim and Village Product Festival in conjunction with Tutong District’s Carnival this morning.

Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Adanan hoped that ’0ne Mukim and Kampung One product programme ‘ will would continue to be motivated inorder to achieve the objective of His Majesty’s government in creating excellent and challenging Mukim and Village Consultative Councils and to accomplish self-sufficiency toward upgrading prosperity and high standard of life . Yang Berhormat emphasized that in continuing the activities, they should not only planning and organising the beneficial projects but the what is very important is full commitment, and the process of implementation so that local community can enjoy the desired result. Yang Berhormat added the prodcuts should be viable and sustainable and the products in their respective villlage should be competitive and meet the quality and international standard.
Through this festival, the Mukim and Village Consultative Councils in Tutong district will have the opportunity to promote a variety of their products. Among the products include coconut oil, handicrafts, local fruits, and life flowers. The public are welcome to visit the festival which takes place at the Pasarneka and Tamu Serambangun, Tutong. A Charity Walkathon was also held today at the complex of the Community Hall, Tutong, starting at 7 in the morning, while fun activities for children will take place at the Recreation Part, Sungai Basong.Product Festival of Mukim and Village of Tutong
