YSHHB launches official website

The media plays an important role in disseminating information on developments and activities either through the print media or the internet. In this regard, the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation this morning held a Media Appreciation ceremony as well as the launching of the Foundation’s Official Website.

The Minister of Communications,Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, who is also the Chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Directors officially launched the Website.The initiative to develop the official website was in response to the government call through the e-government 2009 to 2014 Strategic Plan, which underlines the need to give accurate, credible and up-to-date online informaton.

The Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation acts as a charity platform for His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Muizzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and members of His Majesty’s family to launch various welfare development programmes. This was highlighted in the welcoming speech by the foundation’s Managing Director, Dato Paduka Awang Haji Ali Hashim. Towards that goal, the Foundtion calls on the media to portray His Majesty’s caring and attentive attitude through all programmes, projects and activities of the foundation as well as to uphold the positive image of the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation.

The certificates of appreciation to the media were presented by the Minister of Communications. Among the recipients were Radio and Television Brunei, RTB, the Information Department, Borneo Bulletin, Media Permata, the Brunei Times and several active bloggers that have been giving their support to the foundation. Among those present at the ceremony was the Acting Director of Radio Television Brunei Pengiran Mahari bin Pengiran Abdul Razak.
