THE Fishery Department and Capt Fred (Fishing and Marine Supply) will be organising “Cabaran Pancing” or the Fishing Challenge 2009 on Dec 13 at the Tungku Beach in Gadong from 7am until 2.30pm.
The event is open to all fishing enthusiasts in the country and is divided into four categories – the Team category, Fastest Catch, Individual and Casting Accuracy category.
According to the organisers, more sideline activities will be held this year for public participation, inclusive of family members. The previous event has received encouraging response from members of the public, especially fishing enthusiasts, and this year, the organisers are aiming for a bigger crowd.
Among the prizes up for grabs are cash prizes of up to $600 and plenty of trophies, as well as a 32″ LG Plasma TV. The sideline events – sponsored by Capt Fred – include horse-riding, coconut bowling, the cube, bottle-fishing and a lot more.
