THE Year-End Showcase (YES) 2009 was officially opened yesterday at the Indoor Stadium Berakas by the guest of honour Sheikh Jamaluddin bin Sheikh Mohamed, Director of Tourism Development Department, Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources.

The excitement in YES 2009 will guarantee quality time spent in the country for Bruneians, for all the fun will be focussed on the many activities and games that will be held at the venue starting yesterday until December 20, from 10.30am to 10pm.

Drop by the stage where various performances are alive, witness `drift cars’ swerving on the race tracks provided for the Go-Kart racing contest, gasp all you want with the many cars and custom bikes displays available on the exhibition area and splurge on promotional items such as `Crocs’ with 50 per cent discount off the fifth pair you can grab and for ‘soon-to-be weds’, this would be the perfect opportunity to hunt for that ring, at `Diamoney’ booth.

“Brunei Tourism is very happy to endorse the project organised by MediaHub Event Management & Marketing Solutions Company, as it is inline with our Kenali Negara Ketani (KNK) concept. It helps to encourage locals to spend their time in Brunei and it could also attract neighbouring countries such as Sabah and Sarawak to see what is happening in our country,” expressed Sheikh Jamaluddin during his speech.

He then toured the exhibition booth where sponsors such as NBT Brunei, DST group, Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei (TAIB) and other participating companies including QAF Auto Sdn Bhd, CF King, Top Ceil Sound & Vision company are showcasing their products during this event.

Members of the public can expect plenty of electrifying performances from local artists such as A Band Once, DHASK and other Bruneian talents. There will also be contests and challenges including kid’s colouring game, modified car/dress up and car audio system competition and Custom Bike match.
