A BRUNEIAN man was brought before the Magistrates Court yesterday on a charge of outraging the modesty of a nine-year-old boy at a school in the capital in 2007.
The defendant, 29-year-old Mohamad Fikri Hj Duraman, has been charged under Section354 of the Penal Code, Chapter 22, which stipulates a penalty “imprisonment for a term which may extend to five years and with whipping”.
The charge read in court alleged that Mohamad Fikri committed the offence inside the teacher’s toilet at a religious school in the capital between 3pm and 3.30pm on January 4, 2007.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Prosecution is rep-resented by Ratno Eddy Sophian Hj Zaidi and Mohamad Fikri is represented by Defense Counsel Roy Prabhakaran.
The case is set for further mention on January 15, 2010.
