LA MEE Restaurant is offering its crispy pancake dodols at $1 for four at its Gadong branch in an exclusive promotion to usher in the new year, according to a press release.
According to La Mee’s Chef Ren, although the sticky cake “is traditionally eaten during the Lunar New Year as it is considered good luck, it can be served all year round.
“Therefore, our management decided to start serving the dish now to usher in the year 2010″.
The chef, who hails from Xi’ an, China, also said his team hopes to come up with more variety in their crispy
pancakes in the coming months, leading up to the Lunar New Year.
The promotion runs from December 25 to January 1, during which patrons can also enjoy its set meal of lamian in Chinese herbal soup and four pieces of dodols at $3.99.
Chef Ren added that dodol will be introduced to its Delima branch in the coming weeks.
The eatery is also running a new year set meal promotion of beef spaghetti or chicken lamian with la pizza-pancake margherita at $6, available at both Gadong and Delima branches.
