A WIDE range of new products can be found at the Brunei International Sale currently being held at the Indoor Stadium, Hassanal Bolkiah Sports Complex in Berakas from 10 am to 10pm.
Organised by Syarikat Perdana from December 29 till January 7, the event is joined by both local and foreign companies.
Among the participating companies are those from Brunei, China, Malaysia, Indonesia and Pakistan, showcasing food products, attires, precious stones, furniture, artworks, home decorations, shoes, slippers and textiles.
According to Syarikat Perdana Manager Haji Momin Salleh, the sale is aimed at exposing locals to new products from overseas.
He also urged the public to visit the 75 participating booths, as there is a variety of little known products, such as health food items and health supplements, as well as “school necessities like bags, books and stationery”.
A vendor from China, who sells Chinese calligraphy, said it took him a few days to reach the country.
“I had to stop over in Singapore in order to catch a flight to Brunei,” he said.
Business aside, he said his main intention of joining the sale is to introduce locals to the uniqueness of Chinese Islamic calligraphy.
Vendors from Malaysian states of Kelantan and Terengganu are introducing new batik motifs to local consumers.
“We have brought the latest collections of batik from our factory,” a sale attendant said.
Meanwhile, Haji Momin said some vendors could not make it to the event on time but had promised to fill up the booths soon.
