SEVEN cartons of Tiger Beer and Barcelona liquor were found abandoned by suspected smugglers during an anti-crime operation near the Brunei-Limbang border on New Year’s eve.
The operation was part of “Operasi Sepadu” conducted by the Royal Brunei Police Force which included roadblocks in Brunei-Muara District and raids at various places such as rented houses at Mukim Pengkalan Batu, as well as operations in Kg Junjungan and Brunei Limbang Border.
A total of 82 officers from Narcotics Control Bureau, Immigration Department, Ministry of Religious Affairs, Royal Brunei Police Force from Brunei Muara led by Asp Muhammad Merzudi bin Hj Mazlan, Commanding Officer of Limau Manis Police Station, took part in Operasi Sepadu from 12 midnight until 3am.
During the three-hour operation, three Filipino women, three Filipino men and two Thai men were also found without documents.
