TO raise awareness to help local sport personnel and athletes in the field of doping control, sports trauma, exercise, athletic training and physical therapy, the Department of Youth and Sports with the Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council will be organising the second IOC sports medicine course from Jan 18-21 at the Orchid Garden Hotel.
This is the second time that Brunei Darussalam have the privilege to host the prestigious event, which was last held in 1998. according to a press release by the Youth and Sports Department yesterday.
It is hope that the course will provide knowledge on the latest development in the field of sports medicine and sports science.
Around 300 participants including local and foreign medical profession and sporting fraternity are invited to attend the course which will be conducted by well-known experts from Asia.
International Olympic Committee or IOC course play an important role in the education and development of healthcare among sports science and medical professionals on the latest footing to meet the needs of training athletes.
With the course, Brunei Darussalam stand to gain invaluable scientific knowledge in physical fitness and treatment of sports injuries in order to achieve superiority in sports through sport science.
