LUANDA, Jan 14 (NNN-ANGOP) — Angolan Prime Minister António Paulo Kassoma has left for Maputo to attend the swearing-in ceremony Thursday of the President of Mozambique, Armando Emílio Guebuza, who recently won re-election.
The prime minister, who left from Luanda’s 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, accompanied by Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Jorge Chicoty, was seen off by Economy Minister Manuel Nunes Júnior, Luanda Governor Francisca do Espírito Santo and other government officials.
Paulo Kassoma will attend the swearing-in of president Armando Guebuza, winner of the Oct 28, 2009 presidential elections, on behalf of the Angolan Head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos. The event will be attended by almost 1,500 invited guests.
It will be the second time President Guebuza will be leading that Indian Ocean African nation, which is a member of the Portuguese Speaking Countries Community (CPLP) and of Southern African Development Community (SADC), to which Angola also belongs.
The swearing-in ceremony will take place at Maputo’s Independence Square on Thursday morning, and will be attended by presidents of the southern African region or their representatives and leaders of Portuguese speaking countries leaders, among other African political entities and individualities.
Paulo Kassoma, is expected back in the country on Thursday evening. — NNN-ANGOP![]()
