LA PAZ, Jan 14 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) – The gas pipeline to be built under the Argentinian Northeast project (GNEA) will allow for an increase in Bolivian natural gas supply to the neighbouring country’s market.
Cambio daily newspaper quoted the YPFB Transporte General Manager Ciro Camacho saying that the state-run Bolivian Fiscal Oilfields (YPFB) and Argentina Energy (ENARSA) held several talks in to speed up the GNEA project.
Camacho said that when completed, Bolivian natural gas transportation to the Argentinian market will increase from 247.2 million to 565 million cubic feet per day (cfd).
The gas pipeline extension exceeds 43 miles and around 12 miles will be built by Bolivia, especially in the interest of the Argentinian Misiones, Corrientes, Chaco and Santiago del Estero provinces, which currently do not have gas supply.
The contract of sale between La paz and Buenos Aires establishes a maximum 283 million-cfd ceiling. Both sides are seeking to consolidate the signing of a new contract that will allow increasing the established volumes. — NNN-PRENSA LATINA
